FAQs

How many tickets can I apply for?

There is no restriction to the number of guest tickets which you can buy. The graduation package  includes one guest ticket. Additional tickets can be bought through the same website at the cost of £20.00+VAT (please note that we operate a no refund policy). There is no charge for children under the age of 14.

When will I receive my tickets?

UK based graduates will have their tickets posted to them approximately two weeks before the ceremony. Tickets for overseas graduates will be held for collection on the day from the CIPS Information Desk in the foyer of Birmingham Symphony Hall.

What if I or my guests have a disability?

Arrangements can be made for anyone attending the graduation ceremony, either as a graduate or a guest, who may have a disability or other needs. If you have any guests with mobility difficulties, please contact us at natalie.dowell@redactive.co.uk or by calling 020 7880 6225 so that we can seat them in a suitable area.

Where can I buy my Graduation DVD?

You can purchase the DVD in advance from http://www.iamagraduate.com/

Are children allowed to attend the graduation ceremony?

Our graduation ceremonies are family occasions and we welcome your child’s attendance on this special day. Baby changing facilities are available. There is no charge for children under the age of 14.

What should I wear for the ceremony?

We suggest that you wear smart business dress. The gown hood has a loop in front designed to hook over a button which keeps it tidy and in place: it is easier therefore if you wear a shirt, blouse or dress with buttons. Could we politely request that jeans or t-shirts are not worn.

What time should I arrive for the ceremony and how long does it last?

You will be assigned a robing time slot e.g. 09.30-11.00am and this is when you should arrive at Symphony Hall for robing. Please leave plenty of time to travel. The ceremony itself will last about an hour and a half and will be followed by a drinks reception.

Will I be sitting with my guests during the ceremony?

No. Graduates will be seated in the stalls of the Birmingham Symphony Hall in alphabetical order. Your family and friends will be seated elsewhere in the Symphony Hall, they will not be allocated specific seats. You will be able to meet up with them once the ceremony is over.

Is it easy to park in Birmingham?

Car parking at Symphony Hall itself is available and there is additional parking at the National Indoor Arena (NIA) which is next door. The International Convention Centre (ICC), of which Symphony Hall is part, is well-signposted. Further car park information can be found at www.birmingham.gov.uk

Do you have any special offers on accommodation?

What should I do if I've changed my address since booking my place to attend online?

It is vital that CIPS have the correct contact detail, or your tickets will be mailed to the incorrect place and you may not receive them. Please ensure that your contact details are up to date by logging on to My CIPS
